2009 Visit to St Erth

On Wednesday 15th April 2009, members of Ploulec'h Twinning Group arrived in St. Erth after taking the overnight ferry from Plymouth to Roscoff. They stayed as guests of St Erth Twinnig Association until the morning of Saturday 18th April and had an action packed visit including an excursion to and climb up St Michael's Mount (in the pouring rain!). During the visit, our guests enjoyed a Soiree Musicale in the church hall when a convivial time was had by all!

After spending time with their hosts on Thursday, our guests enjoyed a fabulous evening dinner at the Penventon Hotel in Redruth with a mixure of Cornish and Bretton dancing lead by the Cornish band "Hevva".

On the Friday, our guests enjoyed a coach tour of West Cornwall with visits to Zennor village and church, Pendeen and Geevor Mine where they learned something about the Cornish mining heritage helped by one of our members who acted as a voluntary tour guide for the visit. The Friday evening was spent with hosts. Saturday brought some wonderful Cornish weather but sadly, it was time to say Au Revoir until our visit to Ploulec'h in 2010!
